We started VIDAS because we've both lost stories we wish we could get back.

Not long ago, I (Joe) had a son, and we enrolled him in a Jewish daycare. My grandparents would have been overjoyed. Nothing made them prouder than seeing our family stay connected to the culture that meant so much to them.

But one day it hit me: my son will never get to hear from them. He'll never hear their voices, or what they went through so that we could be here now. And that made me really sad.

I wasn't about to let that happen with my parents.

Juan and I realized we weren't alone. So many families carry this quiet heartbreak: that the stories that shaped us might fade before we ever hear them.

VIDAS is our way of doing something about that.

We've built a new kind of tool—one that helps your loved ones share their memories in their own words, in their own voice. It guides them through a natural conversation and turns that into a beautiful keepsake: a written memoir, an audio archive, and a life summary.

And something amazing happens in the process:
The person sharing their memories loves doing it.

We've seen it again and again—what starts as a quiet recording becomes a joyful, energizing experience. People light up remembering who they were at different times in life. They laugh at old stories, reflect on the path they took, and get to see their own life with new meaning.

We've poured everything we have into making this experience simple, emotional, and deeply human.
